For as long as I can remember I have always been interested in health and fitness. It started when I was 8 years old and I would go with my mom to her aerobics classes at the YMCA. I would sit in the back and just watch, anticipating the time when I would be old enough to get a gym membership. Fast forward to when I was 17 and I was in the gym every day after school lifting weights. I had no idea what I was doing but I started to teach myself as much as could by watching other people and reading every fitness magazine I could get my hand on. While all my friends were involved in sports I choose to walk a different path and do my own thing. I always wanted to be athletic so I tried to find sport but I just couldn’t commit to one. It felt too much like a chore to me. When I was in the gym, I felt comfortable.
My competitive career started when I was 27 and I decided to enter my first body building competition. I immediately fell in love with the sport and I really enjoyed the challenges it brought on. It taught me how to be extremely disciplined in all aspects of my life. This was something that I lacked tremendously growing up. What started out as something fun to try, turned out to be something I was willing to commit my life to. If I was going to sacrifice all of my free time and give up some things I really loved I was going to do whatever it took to make a career out of it.
In November 2013 I turned pro in the Figure division at the NPC Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Since then I found that my purpose was not to just become the best that I could be but to pour out my passion into others becoming the best that THEY can be! Becoming a personal trainer was a pathway career for me. I have always had that need to be involved in anything that had to do with fitness, but personal training allowed me to give back part of something that influenced so much of my life. If gives me the ability to walk out my lifestyle while inspiring, encouraging, and motivating my clients.
My training style stems from bits and pieces of my coaches throughout the years. I have always been taught to be extreme and limitless. This was a blessing because it molded me into how I train now. I love circuit training with supersets, giant sets and intense cardio intervals. Pushing people outside their fears and comfort zones allows them to be challenged so that they can truly change. When people have someone who believes in them, it gives them the hope that they can achieve anything they want. I am driven by my passion so I try to incorporate that drive into my clients.
