I was born and raised in the great big beautiful state of Alaska!  I made the decision to move to the valley my freshman year of college when we had 6 weeks of -65 below in my hometown of Fairbanks. Growing up I was active in dancing and gymnastics. We traveled all over and even competed in New Zealand. In high school I did club and high school gymnastics as well as tap, ballet and jazz.  After graduating high school I was an exchange student in Germany for a year where I lived in Berlin and near Stuttgart. During my college years I coached gymnastics at Desert Devils Gymnastics and received my Bachelor's degree in bilingual education from ASU with a minor in German. I began teaching right away and taught ESL for 5 years and then transferred to a junior high in Gilbert teaching 7th grade Science.

I have 4 beautiful boys ranging in age from 6 to 18. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family hiking, camping, backpacking, riding ATV's and skiing. After teaching for several years, I went back to school part time and earned my Masters in Educational Leadership and also my Principal's Certificate.  I became a certified group fitness instructor in 2006 and taught BodyPump and BodyAttack.

When my 4th boy was born I was approaching 40 and I really felt the desire to do something physically challenging. I was toying with the idea of either running a marathon or entering a figure competition. I decided to start training with Damian Segovia and entered my first figure competition in 2008 and competed at the national until 2012. It was a great experience that set me on the road to eating healthy and being physically and mentally fit.

In 2012 I decided I wanted to make my new found passion a career and resigned from my teaching position in the summer of 2012 and began personal training at AZ Pro Physiques. To me, I'm still teaching but in an area that's dear to my heart. I love coming to work everyday and helping others attain their goals. I feel truly blessed!
